English Poem
From the
echoes of slavery
To the
echoes of poverty
Not
forgetting the lack of property
As everyday
struggle tests our bravery.
They say
black child you are strong
But my
patience is impatiently fading away
Eaten by
endless sorrows
But how can one
enhance peace in their heart without basic needs?
They say we
survived the white oppression
But we are
stuck in poverty oppression
My hands are
tied
My body is
tired
Weakened by
the daily struggles
We fought
for freedom
Hoping for
better lives
But freedom
benefited the rich society
Where the
rich become richer
While we peasants become poor of the poorest.
Our daily
struggle is no longer freedom
But we now
strive to get something to survive
We live to
survive
From the
echoes of slavery
To the
echoes of poverty
Black poor
heart bleeding
